When you are a film star, you gotta have to take care of not just your life but also the chaos your stardom can cause when you are in a public place. The incident we are talking about took place in 2016. A year ago when SRK was busy in promoting his long-delayed movie ‘Raees’.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (Western Railway) Tarun Barot has claimed that Shahrukh Khan was the reason behind the stampede that led to the death of a man. If Tarun Barot proves the claim then chances are that SRK will be charged with IPC section 304a2 (causing death due to negligence) and he’ll also be charged with the sections of the Railway Act for creating a stampede.
So, what exactly happened during ‘Raees’ promotion?
SRK was busy in promoting his movie ‘Raees’ and he literally traveled from Mumbai to Delhi in a train. The crowd went crazy to get the glimpse of his favorite star. But this promotional event triggered s stampeded when the train arrived at the Vadodara Railway Station. And due to the crowd, a person named Farid Khan Pathan died of heart attack after being suffocated in the mob.
SRK is aware of this incident and had expressed his grief when this incident took place. The DSP has now claimed that he triggered a stampede by throwing t-shirts and other objects. The officer said that if he hadn’t done it, the incident would have never taken place.
If SRK is found guilty, he will be booked under the IPC sections 279 (rash and negligent act), 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 304a2 (causing death by negligence) as well as the sections of Railway Act 145,152,175 and 179.
The reports also suggest that the heart patient, Farid Khan came to the station to drop his guest and when he came to know that SRK was at the station, he went there to get a glimpse of him. His family tried to stop him but he didn’t listen.
Do you think SRK shall be charged for this incident? Well, we cannot tell what is right and wrong here but one thing is sure, this will create more legal trouble for SRK.
